At Sunflower Smile Childcare, we've thoughtfully designed our spaces to cater to the unique developmental needs of every child, from their very first months through to their preparation for school. Each room provides a safe, stimulating, and age-appropriate environment where children can learn, explore, and thrive with confidence.
Baby Provision
Welcome to our Baby Room, a warm, nurturing and stimulating environment specially designed created for our youngest children. We understand how important these early months and years are, which is why we provide a safe and caring space where babies can explore, learn, and grow at their own pace.
Our Baby Room offers a wide range of sensory and exploratory experiences designed to encourage curiosity and early development. Babies can enjoy activities with soft toys, rattles, musical instruments, stackable toys, and sensory play such as sand and texture exploration. Alongside opportunities for play and discovery, we create a calm and comforting atmosphere where babies feel secure, safe and supported.
Every child is assigned a Key Person who builds a strong and trusting relationship with both the child and their family. This special bond helps each child feel welcomed, settled and valued within our setting. By getting to know your child’s unique personality, routines, and developmental needs, this ensures the child receives the very best care, encouragement and support throughout their early learning journey.
The Baby Room consists of a spacious main playroom thoughtfully designed to support both play and care routines throughout the day. The room features a soft, comfortable carpeted area, ideal for floor play and quiet interactions, alongside a washable flooring area that is perfect for messy play, creative activities, painting, and mealtimes. Leading directly from the main playroom is our calm and peaceful sleep room, furnished with wooden cots to provide a safe, cosy and relaxing environment where children can rest and sleep comfortably according to their individual routines. Also, directly accessible from the playroom is a fully equipped changing room, complete with a changing station and dedicated storage for each child’s personal care items.
Our Baby Room also benefits from a secure outdoor area specially designed for younger children. This space provides babies with daily opportunities to enjoy fresh air, explore their surroundings and develop their physical skills in a safe and stimulating environment. With age-appropriate equipment and sensory experiences, the outdoor area encourages curiosity, confidence and early exploration through outdoor play.
We recognise and value every child as an individual, and we understand the importance of maintaining familiar routines and meeting every child’s unique needs. For this reason, we place great importance on open and ongoing communication between our staff and parents or guardians, working together to ensure every child feels happy, secure and well cared for
