Our Rooms

At Sunflower Smile Childcare, we've thoughtfully designed our spaces to cater to the unique developmental needs of every child, from their very first months through to their preparation for school. Each room provides a safe, stimulating, and age-appropriate environment where children can learn, explore, and thrive with confidence.

Little Pre-School

Little Pre-School Room caters to children aged from 2 - 3 years. Children in this vibrant space enjoy a wide range of adult and child-led activities and dedicated game areas specifically designed to enhance their imaginations and social skills. This room features a main playroom, a separate messy play/dining room, a quiet and cosy book corner, and a dedicated toilet area and cloakroom with furnishings accesible to the children.

When children transfer to Little Pre-School, they continue to experience the “hands-on” activities which have been an integral part of their days in the nursery. We focus on building upon the skills they have already acquired and thoughtfully extending their learning through our amazing curriculum and planned activities. During their time in Little Pre-School, children are actively involved in activities that specifically promote physical development, listening skills, concentration and independence..

During periods of free play, children are given ample opportunity to develop their creativity through imaginative play and independent selection of activities thoughtfully set out by our staff, whether it’s roleplaying in the built up kitchen area, or creating a masterpiece with a variety of artistic resources.

Little Pre-School has a variety of areas set up within the room, with accessible resources for the children to choose from including sand, sensory and water areas, construction and playdough. Each area has weekly planned activities based on the children’s interests, needs and monthly currriculum.

We recognise and value every child as an individual, and we understand the importance of maintaining familiar routines and meeting every child’s unique needs. For this reason, we place great importance on open and ongoing communication between our staff and parents or guardians, working together to ensure every child feels happy, secure and well cared for.
